Rotary has started participating in energy distribution projects on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis in China. Late last year, it set up a joint venture to transport and distribute liquefied natural gas from Inner Mongolia to other parts of China.

Its 51 per cent-owned Jinzhou Everthriving Logistics, with an initial capital investment of RMB 100 million  (S$20 million), will transport LNG from the production field in Erdos, Inner Mongolia, to a storage depot in Qinhuangdao. A second route - from Dazhou  in  Szechuan to Dongguan in Guangdong - began operations recently.
